This project, a collaboration of local businesses and visual artists, features 48 full-size Adirondack chairs, painted and artistically rendered by creative individuals and artists of all ages from Needham.

Petit Robert Bistro Needham is proud to sponsor, “Chaise La Vie” as our Adirondack chair design.

The artist is Georgina Arrieta-Ruetenik. Georgina is an amateur photographer and Practice Manager at Soma Physical Therapy & Rehab. Her son, Kenneth Ruetenik, who took the whimsical Eiffel Tower photograph in the center of the chair, assisted her.

In discussing the design, we asked Georgina the following questions;
Question: Why did you decide to participate in this project?

Answer: Since my husband and I are members of the Needham Business Association, I wanted to support our community.

Question: What was your inspiration for the piece?

Answer: Our inspiration focused primarily on Petit Robert Bistro’s Eiffel Tower motif and photos of a family trip to Paris & Versailles.

Question: Describe your background as an artist.

Answer: Artistically, I am an amateur photographer, with digital photography being my favorite.

Question: Where can someone see more of your work?

Answer: Photography is my hobby. Some of my photographs are on display at Soma Physical Therapy and Rehab, 43 Charles St., Needham, as well as on its website: www.somaptandrehab.com

Each chair in “A Chair to Remember” is a one-of-a-kind collector’s item and will be awarded to the highest bidder during an auction to take place at Needham Town Hall on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Proceeds from the auction will be used to fund scholarships at Needham High School and town beautification projects.
